Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Confirms New Maps and Modes Coming in Season 3
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s Season 3 update brings new 6v6 maps and classic game modes like Capture the Flag.
- Fans can expect the return of One in the Chamber mode alongside new modes Minefield and Escort later in Season 3.
- Season 3 introduces new weapons, Perk Vests, Perks, Field upgrades, skins like Snoop Dogg, and content for Zombies mode.
Activision has revealed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s Season 3 update, which introduces new Multiplayer maps, classic game modes, and more. The major Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 content patch is set to release on Wednesday, April 3.
In early March, Sledgehammer teased the return of Capture the Flag. Although fans might remember playing a modified version of the classic mode in Modern Warfare 2’s 20v20 Big Capture the Flag, a 6v6 version has been seen in Call of Duty since 2020’s Black Ops Cold War. While Sledgehammer’s initial tease was a bit vague and uncertain, the mode’s return is now set in stone.

Call of Duty: Warzone Confirms When Rebirth Island Is Coming Back
Activision reveals Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3, heralding the return of the fan-favorite map, Rebirth Island, and confirming its arrival date.
On April 3, Modern Warfare 3’s Season 3 update adds Capture the Flag alongside four new 6v6 Multiplayer maps. The first map, Growhouse, is a remaster of Vanguard’s Sphere and takes place around a drug farm, 6 Star takes place on top of a luxurious skyscraper, Tanked is set in and around an aquarium, and Emergency is based around a government research lab. Later in Season 3, Modern Warfare 3 will receive two more 6v6 maps in Checkpoint and Grime. Just like all other Call of Duty Seasons, the update includes a battle pass with an assortment of new skins and weapon blueprints, some of which can be seen in the trailer.
In addition to Capture the Flag, Season 3 also introduces Call of Duty’s classic One in the Chamber mode at launch, followed by new modes Minefield and Escort later in the Season. In case fans are unfamiliar, One in the Chamber is a free-for-all mode that gives players limited lives, a knife, and a one-shot pistol with one round that reloads after earning an elimination.
