Pitso Mosimane and his new Saudi club nearly signed a South African player, but deals collapse.
PITSO MOSIMANE WANTED TO SIGN IQRAAM RAYNERS FROM STELLENBOSCH FC
According to reports, Stellenbosch FC’s 28-year-old striker Rayners, with six goals and one assist in 20 games, was targetted by Mosimane to join him at Abha Club.
“Stellenbosch Football Club have rejected an offer for talisman Iqraam Rayners from Pitso Mosimane’s Saudi club, Abha FC,” reported iDiski Times.
VALID REASONS?
The report added to say that Stellenbosch felt that losing the Mitchell’s Plain-born player in January was ill-timing.
“This publication understands that Mosimane’s club submitted a bid for Rayners just after the Premier Soccer League window transfer closed and Stellenbosch rejected the offer. The PSL summer transfer window was closed on 26th January, while the window in Saudi Arabia was open until 30th January.

“Information received bu iDiski Times, state Stellies couldn’t let Rayners leave in this January, as they were going to struggle to find a replacement with the PSL transfer window closed already,” the report added.
Meanwhile, Mosimane will serve a four-month deal in an attempt to save Abha Club from relegation.
