B*Witched react as Charli XCX clips sparks backlash from Irish fans
‘Some people say I look like me Da’… As if the opening line of C’est La Vie isn’t a big enough clue that B*Witched are Irish!
English pop star Charli XCX is suffering the wrath of the Irish, bless her, after insinuating that the four-strong 90s girl group are British.

In a resurfaced clip from Lip Sync Battle, the 31-year-old is seen elaborately lip-syncing to B*Witched’s most popular track C’est La Vie.

Charli is dressed casually in a white cropped T-shirt and jeans; however, it was her back-up dancers that caught viewers attention. They’re all wearing Union Jack dresses.
We’re sure you had the same thought as we did: at first glance, we thought she was lip-syncing to Spice Girls’ Spice Up Your Life which would explain the Union Jack dress, a nod to Geri Haliwell. Unfortunately, that’s not the case.
The resurfaced clip has garnered attention on social media, because nothing riles the Irish up like Britain falsely claiming us as their own, take Cillian Murphy and Maura Higgins as just two examples!
It’s gotten so much attention in fact, that it has caught the eye of B*Witched themselves, with member Sinéad O’Carroll giving her two pence on the situation.

Taking to the girl group’s official TikTok account, Sinéad duetted the video and wrote: ‘What do we think guys? Can someone Photoshop an Irish flag in there?’ The singer also jokingly hashtagged the words ‘shamrocks’ and ‘Irish flag’.
One user replied: ‘I think they just thought girl band Union Jack dress no one will notice,’ while another commented: ‘Union Jack dresses??? Excuse me????’
We’ll show you our tricolour if you show us yours…
