BTS’ Kim Taehyung aka V reveals he gained 10 kg after joining military, surprises ARMY with interim report on Valentines Day

BTS’ V, who enlisted with the military for his mandatory service in December 2023, surprised fans on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. On the special day, V aka Kim Taehyung took to his Weverse handle and shared an update about weight, revealing his current weight.

V shared his current weight of 72.5kg, which caught fans’ attention. Fans had previously expressed concern when V’s weight was 63.4kg in 2022, especially considering it was even lower before his enlistment at 62kg. During a recent broadcast, V and his bandmates joked about a competition to bulk up, with V aiming for 86kg while in the army.

As translated  by a fan handle on X, V wrote on Weverse, “Il’l do an interim report. 72.5 kg achieved. Il’l be back. Loyalty.”

ARMY were left excited after V’s sudden surprise. One of the fans wrote, “tae came home and shared with us some weight gain details and said he will be back again. it’s V day, it’s happy loVe day today and look who’s here, the human embodiment of love himself this is beautiful. stay safe and healthy we will wait for you taehyung.”

The seven singers of the band plan to reunite as a group sometime in 2025 after they finish their service. RM and V joined the military in December and Jimin and Jungkook followed suit the next day.

V had penned an emotional note for his fans ahead of the enlistment. He wrote, “I think I will miss you all. I love you so much. Let’s wait till 2025 to meet again and make new memories.” Jin will return in June 2024 after completing his service.
