With only a few weeks to go before the 2024 NFL Draft, two teams in the AFC are still making moves.
The Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans agreed to a trade on Friday that will see a draft pick swapped for an offensive tackle.
The Browns are sending offensive tackle Leroy Watson IV to Tennessee in exchange for a seventh round pick in this year’s draft. The Browns will get the No. 227 overall pick, giving them six picks in total.
The Titans, who were in the market for a new offensive tackle in the draft, may have addressed that need with Watson.
The tackle joined the Browns after being signed from the 49ers practice squad last November. He played in seven games for Cleveland, filling in for a team that had several injuries across the offensive line.
He was notable for his discipline last season, as he did not commit an offensive penalty during his time with the team.
The Titans have seven picks in the draft after trading for Watson, including the No. 7 overall pick. Many mock drafts have them taking Joe Alt out of Notre Dame, who is widely regarded as the best offensive line prospect in the draft.
Other options for the Titans at No. 7 include edge rusher Dallas Turner and Taliese Fuaga, another one of the top offensive linemen.
We’ll see what each team decides to do in the draft in a matter of weeks, but it’s clear that teams are still making deals as the draft approaches.
