Nuggets Get Positive Jamal Murray Injury Update Ahead of Game 7 vs. Timberwolves
On Sunday evening, the eyes of the sports world will turn to Denver. A Western Conference semifinal series between the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves that has made no sense at every turn will wind to a conclusion.
In order to fully utilize its home-court advantage, the Nuggets will need guard Jamal Murray healthy. On Saturday afternoon, Denver got its strongest signal yet that Murray will be at full strength.
"He feels great," Nuggets coach Michael Malone told reporters after Murray injured his elbow in a collision with Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert during Game 6 Thursday.
That game quickly snowballed into a disaster, as Murray made just four of 18 shots from the field in a 115–70 Minnesota beatdown.
"(Murray looked) like he hadn't eaten in two days," Malone said as a means of expressing that the guard was hungry. "So hopefully that carries over tomorrow. I hope he doesn't eat until tomorrow until 6:00 p.m."
Denver is attempting to repeat as NBA champion after winning its first crown in 2023. Murray is averaging 19.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game this postseason.
