Former Florida Panthers Head Coach Joel Quenneville hasn’t been heard from much over the past few years.
It was just seven games into the 2021-22 season that Quenneville resigned from the Panthers in the wake of the Kyle Beach sexual assault scandal that occurred in 2010, when both were members of the Chicago Blackhawks.
Quenneville, the second-winningest head coach in NHL history, has been out of the league, and out of the public eye, ever since.

He spoke to a group of NHL coaches and general managers back in September, and has expressed a desire to resume his career behind the bench.
This week, Quenneville gave his first public interview in several years, appearing on the Cam and Strick Podcast.
He remains interested in coaching again but said he is “waiting for clearance to get that chance to get back and coach.”
Quenneville said he’s been asked, though not formally, about some of the openings that have popped up and internally weighed interest, but ultimately it’s not in the cards yet.
“There’s a process before we can go to the next step,” he said. “We’re still not there yet.”
Quenneville also discussed his departure from the Panthers after being asked if he resigned by choice or he was forced to leave.
“It all happened so fast,” he said. “To be quite honest, I didn’t think I was going to miss one game.”
Quenneville went on to give detailed answers into elements of controversy, including what he did and did not know, the roles of the people involved and the timeline of events.
