Avoid sleeping on the affected side. Sleep with two or more pillows under your head. Avoid bending over to pick things up. When you wake up in the morning do not move out of the bed immediately. Sit along the side of the bed for a few minutes before getting out of the bed.

Gymnastics and jarring activities need to be avoided in patients with BPPV. Avoid sleeping in position or posture in which vertigo is triggered. Sudden head movements need to be avoided. Sudden actions like moving from supine to erect position needs to be avoided.
