The Ohio State Buckeyes have self-reported four minor recruiting violations to the NCAA as of Tuesday afternoon. The Columbus Dispatch’s Joey Kaufman reported on the story and found that the four violations were only Level III violations, the lowest of the three levels.
Kaufman listed the four violations as Impermissible contact with transfer, Provided photo edit a violation, Booster contact with recruit before game, and Social media violation. These four offenses are all reportedly minor but they did in fact violate NCAA rules.
The next steps are unknown but NCAA harsh punishment remains unlikely for the Buckeyes. The school will work to make sure these violations do not occur again with staff training sessions, as well as simply not doing them again.
