Jarkov. Un bombardeo ruso destruyó el lunes la torre de televisión de Járkov, la segunda ciudad ucrania, y las autoridades de Kiev advirtieron de que se espera un “periodo difícil” en el frente a partir del próximo mes.

Las fuerzas rusas reivindicaron la toma de un nuevo pueblo situado al suroeste de la ciudad de Donietsk, en el este del país, una nueva muestra de la creciente presión ejercida por Moscú en la ex república soviética, invadida en febrero de 2022.

La estructura de la torre de televisión, de 240 metros, se derrumbó a media altura, constató un periodista de AFP. La instalación ya había sufrido daños tras otro ataque ruso en marzo de 2022.

“Los ocupantes atacaron una infraestructura de televisión en Járkov”, confirmó el gobernador regional, Oleg Synegubov.

“Los empleados se escondieron durante la alerta. No hubo víctimas”, precisó, añadiendo que se produjeron “interrupciones en la señal para la televisión”.

Imágenes difundidas en redes sociales y grabadas poco después del impacto muestran la parte superior del edificio caer en una nube de humo gris.

La ciudad de Járkov, donde vivían más de 1,4 millones de personas antes de la guerra y que está situada cerca de la frontera con Rusia, ha sido atacada con mayor frecuencia por las fuerzas rusas en las últimas semanas.

Sus infraestructuras energéticas también fueron atacadas, causando importantes cortes de energía a finales de marzo.

El presidente Volodymir Zelensky viajó a inicios de abril a las líneas defensivas recientemente cavadas en esta región, donde el frente se encuentra a unos 40 kilómetros de Jarkov.
