Investigative journalist Liz Collin says the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots in Minneapolis did “not have to happen” if the “truth” was told from the beginning.
Ms Collin and her family were targeted during the riots and had a mobs of more than 100 protestors turn up at their home as her husband was the president of the Police Officers Federation of Minneapolis at the time.
BLM riots did not ‘have to happen’ if truth was told from the beginning
Her new Alpha News documentary ‘The Fall of Minneapolis’ aims to shed light on the truth about George Floyd’s death and former police officer Derek Chauvin’s trial.
She was a long-time anchor at a CBS affiliate station in Minneapolis for nearly 15 years and says she was “demoted over all of this”.
“We saw cancel culture kind of come after myself and my family that summer, as they did basically anyone who had any ties to law enforcement,” Ms Collin told Sky News Australia host Rita Panahi.
“I certainly wasn’t the only one – we had several, several protests at our home that summer, but … that force that came out kept so many people quiet and fearful of telling the truth in all of this.
“I knew that there were stories there that the media simply ignored.”
