BJP shows indications of losing power: Sachin Pilot
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: AICC general secretary Sachin Pilot said on Tuesday the victory of UDF candidate Shashi Tharoor in Thiruvananthapuram is needed not only for the constituency and Kerala but also for the entire India. Sachin was here to participate in a roadshow as part of the UDF’s last-lap campaign from Vazhimukku to Neyyattinkara.
“I’m sure you will elect him with a bigger majority than last time,” the leader said. Pilot stated during a public ceremony in Neyyattinkara that A Charles, a former MP for the constituency, was a friend of his late father, and he too had a very good relationship with him.
“After the first round of elections, the BJP has begun to show indications of losing power, which is why Modi gave a speech spewing sectarian hatred in Rajasthan, rejected the candidacy of a Congress candidate in one constituency, and withdrew the nominations of others. The INDIA bloc will win power, and Tharoor will play a major role in that govt. Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan maintains a political double standard. Rahul Gandhi, who has been accepted as the INDIA bloc’s prime ministerial nominee, is fiercely insulted, claiming that only the LDF can remove Modi from power. Pilot also encouraged Tharoor to be prepared to win with a large majority.
Pilot also opined the BJP is uncomfortable in the first lap of this election, which is for change. “The country is going to see a new Congress,” he said. He also pointed out that Rs 1 lakh each would be given annually to destitute women and youth to get vocational training.
Central Election Committee general convener N Sakthan, local Congress functionaries R Vatsalan, Mariyapuram Sreekumar, M Mohinudeen, S K Ashok Kumar, M C Selvaraj, Avanindra Kumar, Bhuvanendran Nair, V Sreedharan Nair, George Joseph, and others also spoke.
