Bill Belichick is still the 'powerhouse' he always was, Rob Gronkowski insists as legendary coach eyes possible Falcons move following Patriots exit: 'He's still the great Belichick'

Bill Belichick is reportedly set for a second interview with the Atlanta Falcons Rob Gronkowski played under the legendary Patriots coach from 2010 to 2018 DailyMail.com provides all the latest international sports news

Bill Belichick remains the ‘great’ coaching ‘powerhouse’ he always was – despite his exit from the Patriots after a miserable season.

That’s according to former tight end Rob Gronkowski, who has ‘no doubt’ the six-time Super Bowl winner is as good as ever.

Gronkowski played under Belichick – and alongside Tom Brady – for the Patriots between 2010 and 2018, winning four championships.

‘I think, 100 percent, he’s still the great Bill Belichick,’ he told TMZ. ‘No doubt about that.’

Under Belichick, New England reached only one playoff game in four seasons following the departure of Tom Brady.

But the 71-year-old has been linked with several coaching vacancies in the NFL. He is reportedly set for a second interview with the Falcons this weekend.
‘If he goes to a team with great players with great talent, he will be successful,’ Gronkowski insisted.

‘Because he’s still the powerhouse coach that we all have seen throughout the years.’

Belichick will reportedly meet with the Falcons hierarchy for a second time this weekend after holding face-to-face talks with owner Arthur Blank.

Belichick’s iconic 24-year stint with the New England Patriots came to an end this month, with the two parties mutually agreeing to go their separate ways on the back of a disastrous 4-13 campaign.

Despite nearing his 72nd birthday, the veteran head coach is steering clear of retirement for now and instead hunting down his next job.
