Work is underway for a new beerhall and cocktail bar in the heart of Belfast city centre.

Belfast-based hospitality company The Ringland Group are currently working hard to open new venture Amelia Hall at Howard Street in the Linen Quarter.

According to the website, Amelia Hall, named after the nearby Amelia Street, will include a beerhall, cocktail bar, pizzeria and bakery on the ground floor of the group’s popular hotel The Flint.

The Ringland Group, owned by brothers Peter and Ben Ringland, currently operates The Flint and The 1852 hotels and bars Town Square and Southside Social in South Belfast’s busy Botanic Avenue.

After scaffolding was removed to reveal The Flint’s new façade after refurbishments, work continues on the restaurant/bar expansion ahead of its planned summer opening.

Planning documents state that Amelia Hall will take over the former Medicare pharmacy, Richard Owens Opticians, Flame restaurant and The Flint’s current reception, amalgamating them into one “open bar/restaurant area”.

Speaking to Belfast Live, co-owner Peter Ringland said: “Amelia Hall is the first phase in our £11m development of The Flint Hotel. It will consist of a large 160 seater bar with pizzeria & beer garden.

“We are currently interviewing for management roles and will shortly commence recruitment for more than 35 floor, bar and kitchen staff. The bar is scheduled to open in June and the public can sign up on our website to receive invites to the launch party.

“At the Ringland Group, we believe that having good fun is a necessity in life and we are absolutely passionate about getting our customers to the ‘good times’ as quickly and easily as possible. This passion plays out in every decision we make; every plate of food we serve, every cocktail we craft, every beer we pour and every staff member we hire.”
