Russia continues its attempts to conduct active assault operations in the Kupiansk direction. The main forces of the occupiers are focused on capturing Synkivka, according to the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskii, on Telegram.
According to Syrskii, the situation in the Kupiansk direction remains tense. The enemy continues assault operations and intense fire there.
“The main efforts of the enemy are focused on displacing our units from the Kupiansk forest and capturing Synkivka,” Syrskii writes.
The commander listened to reports from the commanders about the situation and the nature of the enemy’s actions.
“Together with the commanders of military units, we analyzed the likely further actions of the enemy and determined the optimal options for the actions of our troops. We planned the use of reserves and the order of fire impact,” he reported.
Kypiansk shelling
Despite being liberated from the occupiers in September 2022, Kupiansk is constantly shelled. Due to the continuous shelling, mandatory evacuation of the population was announced in August of the previous year from the Kupiansk district of the Kharkiv region.
It’s worth noting that during the drone and missile attacks by Russia on January 17, Chuhuiv was also targeted. One person was killed, and three others were injured. For more details on the consequences of this massive shelling, during which the Russians launched 33 drones and two S-300 missiles at Ukraine, read RBC-Ukraine’s material.
