Conjunctivitis develops for the following reasons: 1. Viral infections 2. Bacteria 3. Allergies 4. An ocular chemical spray 5. An inadvertent foreign object in the eye 6. A clogged tear duct in infants. The pink eye is most commonly caused by adenovirus, although it can also be caused by the herpes simplex virus, varicella-zoster virus, and other viruses. They are transferred by direct or indirect contact with the fluids that drain from an infected person’s eye. It is possible that one or both eyes will be impacted.

Conjunctivitis is an inflammation of conjunctiva. It may start with redness of eye. Some patients may present with foreign body sensation in eye. Watering of eye can be seen.
