Olympic swimmer Ariarne Titmus has called for decision-makers to get serious about the Brisbane Olympics.
The freestyle champion says she is disappointed event trials will be held in a 42-year-old pool – built for the 1982 Commonwealth Games.
She also expressed her disappointment with planners and their failure to create a legacy for Queensland’s athletes.
“I feel disappointed in that I don’t feel like we’re putting our best foot forward as a city,” Titmus said.
The International Olympic Committee said they are very confident the state government has laid strong foundations for the Games despite debates over the decision to scrap development plans for a new stadium.

Committee chair Kirsty Coventry says the city doesn’t need to change in order to hold the 2032 games.
