Appels à la cessation des hostilités au Congo

 La communauté internationale a vivement réagi aux récents bombardements sur un camp de déplacés à proximité de Goma, en République Démocratique du Congo (RDC), perpétrés ce vendredi 3 mai et ayant causé de nombreuses victimes civiles, dont des enfants. La Belgique a fermement condamné cette attaque et toute violation du droit international humanitaire dans un communiqué. Le gouvernement belge a exigé que le Rwanda retire immédiatement ses forces armées du territoire congolais et cesse son soutien au groupe rebelle M23, responsable des récentes avancées militaires dans la région. Soulignant l’importance de la voie diplomatique et du processus de Luanda pour assurer une paix durable en RDC, la Belgique a appelé à des actions concrètes dans ce sens. De son côté, la France a également exprimé une ferme condamnation des bombardements et a déploré l’escalade de la violence, en particulier l’utilisation d’armes lourdes près des zones habitées par des civils. Lors de la récente visite du président congolais Félix Tshisekedi à Paris, le président français a rappelé l’impératif pour le Rwanda de retirer ses troupes de la RDC. La France a réaffirmé son soutien aux initiatives régionales visant à résoudre la crise et a appelé à une action collective pour restaurer la paix dans la région. Les États-Unis ont renforcé ces condamnations en accusant directement le Rwanda d’être derrière ces attaques meurtrières. Ils ont appelé à une action judiciaire contre les responsables pour garantir que justice soit faite et ont souligné l’importance de la stabilité dans la région des Grands Lacs pour la sécurité et le développement. Ces déclarations internationales convergent vers un appel commun pour la cessation immédiate des hostilités et la nécessité de respecter la souveraineté et l’intégrité territoriale de la RDC. Elles soulignent également la gravité des impacts de ce conflit sur les populations civiles, qui subissent de plein fouet les conséquences des affrontements armés et appellent à des mesures urgentes pour protéger les civils et restaurer la paix dans la région.
