Dibakar Banerjee on positive reception to LSD 2: Feeling very grateful
Filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee’s latest offering Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 has been earning critical praise from all quarters. The director has reacted to all the love that has poured in for the film and said he is grateful for the praises that have come the film’s way.
Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 was released in theatres on April 19 and earned positive reviews from all across. The film has presented the raw and unfiltered truth in an edgy humorous way and takes the audiences into the reality of the digital era.
Taking into account the response the film is getting, Dibakar Banerjee said, “I am actually flattered right now because it’s been an exhausting experience to finish the film at a tight deadline. So, when you get so many positive audiences and critical reactions, I won’t lie, I am feeling genuinely gratified and for this kind of an film that really comes at you and keeps hitting at you, I didn’t expect so many positive reviews because the film can be disturbing but it can also be a fun watch. So, I guess, that’s what we are getting from the reactions. Feeling very Grateful right now.”
WION’s review of LSD 2
Calling the film ahead of its time, Shomini Sen of WION wrote, “While Dibakar Banerjee talks of the Internet, people’s obsession with the Internet and how it is controlling our narrative in the present day, the treatment is something that regular cinema viewers in India are not used to , hence making this film slightly ahead of its time. Some may find the film incoherent, some too bold. Even though it drives home very important points about the digital obsession that lies in our society, its treatment may not sit well with most.” Read the full review of LSD 2 here
