‘Animals are running the zoo’: NBC’s firing of conservative contributor Ronna McDaniel

Sky News host Caleb Bond has reacted to left-wing TV network NBC’s hiring and firing of a conservative contributor within the space of a week.

“A week ago, last Friday, NBC announced that it had signed up the recently departed chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, Ronna McDaniel, as a political contributor,” Mr Bond said.

“She served as chair for seven years until Donald Trump last month endorsed new leadership for the Republican Party, after which Mrs McDaniel resigned.”

In a memo to staff a week ago, NBC’s senior vice president of politics Carrie Budoff Brown said it “couldn’t be a more important moment to have a voice like Ronna’s on the team”.

“She made one appearance on NBC programme ‘Meet The Press’ but the network’s own talent started rebelling against the appointment,” Mr Bond said.

Four days later, NBC sacked her with NBC Universial news chair Cesar Conde telling staff that:

“No organisation, particularly a newsroom, can succeed unless it is cohesive and aligned. Over the last few days, it has become clear that this appointment undermines that goal.”

“The animals are clearly running the zoo at the lefty NBC so they caved and sacked a conservative contributor less than a week after putting her on the books because other staff didn’t like her,” Mr Bond said.
