Anand Mahindra vows to help Delhi boy selling rolls after father’s death: ‘Education shouldn’t suffer’
A video shared by a food blogger that showed a 10-year-old boy taking over his father’s rolls business after his demise touched millions on the internet.
On Monday, industrialist Anand Mahindra came forward to help the boy, saying his education must not suffer and his foundation would look into ways of helping him, in that regard.
“Courage, thy name is Jaspreet. But his education shouldn’t suffer. I believe, he’s in Tilak Nagar, Delhi. If anyone has access to his contact number please do share it. The Mahindra foundation team will explore how we can support his education,” Mahindra wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Mahindra’s post saw a lot of responses, who thanked him for the gesture.
“Well done sir. This kind of philanthropic activities are highly laudable. Keep it up,” one user wrote.
“Thanks for taking it up. Service to Man is Service to God!” another user wrote.
In the video, the 10-year-old boy could be seen making a chicken roll and when the blogger asked him about his background, the boy said that his father had died recently due to brain tuberculosis. The kid and his elder brother, 14, live with their uncle in the national capital and their mother had moved to Punjab.
