Beating up on billionaires a ‘national sport’ for Australians

Shadow Infrastructure Minister Bridget McKenzie says it’s become a “bit of a national sport” to beat up on billionaires like X owner Elon Musk.

Ms McKenzie’s remarks come after the X owner challenged the Australian government’s takedown order of graphic footage.

“Australian laws need to be complied with in Australia,” she told Sky News Australia.

“I think it’s quite a unique situation that we’re seeking to apply Australian law outside our domestic borders, so we’ll see where the courts land on that.

“It has become a bit of a national sport to beat up on billionaires like Musk – everyone’s deleting their Twitter account but no one’s giving back their Tesla.”
