Oman rolls out tender for 500 MW solar project
The project is expected to start operations by the fourth quarter of 2024.
The government of Oman has issued a tender for the 500-megawatt (MW) Ibri III Solar IPP Project.
In a statement, Nama Power and Water Procurement said the last day of purchase is on 20 January, whilst the deadline for Statement of Qualification Submission ends on 19 February before 10 am, Gulf Standard Time.
The project will need an investment of around $402.6m (OMR155m).
It is also in line with the country’s goal to diversify its fuel sources and reach net zero by 2050, as it is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 505,000 tonnes annually.
