Usher brings out Alicia Keys, H.E.R., Lil Jon, Ludacris, and Jermaine Dupri for Super Bowl performance

The R&B star recruited his famous collaborators to help perform iconic hits like “My Boo” and “Yeah!”

Heading into Super Bowl LVIII, Usher has been teasing his halftime performance as “30 years in the making.” But Usher Raymond IV didn’t come alone to this big moment. He brought out many famous collaborators to share the spotlight: Alicia Keys, H.E.R., Ludacris, and Lil Jon, among others.

After the halftime performance opened with Usher sitting on a throne and then performing “Caught Up,” he unveiled Keys standing at a red piano in a sparkly red bodysuit. Together they performed their 2004 hit “My Boo.”

But with less than 15 minutes available for the Super Bowl halftime performance, Usher kept things moving. As he performed “U Got It Bad,” H.E.R. came out with a blistering guitar solo. She also helped him kick off “Bad Girls,” but there wasn’t time for the full song.

Jermaine Dupri, who produced Usher’s best-selling album Confessions, provided an introduction for the titular song. The performer seized the chance to strip down, even ripping his shirt off as he sang. But then Lil Jon came out to play “Turn Down for What,” giving Usher cover for an outfit change.

When Usher re-emerged, he was wearing a sparkly blue-black jacket and roller-blading across the stage with a phalanx of dancers. He ended with one of his most iconic hits, a song that should be very familiar to you if you attended a school dance in the 2000s: “Yeah!” In addition to Lil Jon, Ludacris also joined the show to rap his verse.

Together, this star-studded ensemble made the most of their limited setlist. See every song performed during Usher’s Super Bowl halftime show here.
