(SPOT.ph) There are three certainties in life: Death, taxes, and basketball—at least for the hoops-loving Filipino who just can’t get enough of the sport. Courts all over the country are training grounds for future stars, both in their own hometowns and in international competitions. Shoe and lifestyle brand adidas is all too familiar with the Filipinos’ fiery love for basketball, and their latest collaboration with local artist group Aral Cru pays homage to that.
Check out the adidas x Aral Cru collab

All-Filipino artist trio Aral Cru has a focus on street art and you can see their design philosophy bleed into this new collab with adidas. The Alab Ng Puso sneaker takes its name from a line in the Philippine national anthem, and roughly translates to “flame of the heart,” which burns eternal.
The low-profile basketball shoe is painted red, yellow, and orange, with strokes of black and white. In true alab fashion, a pixelated flame design covers the side. It’s a pretty snazzy basketball shoe that offers elevated comfort and style, whether you’re looking to add spice to your outfit, or you’re really serious about the game. An energy-returning BOOST midsole charges every step forward, and a sturdy textile upper guarantees you can wear it all season.
For that much-needed support, the shoe sits on a rubber outsole that provides a secure grip. Contrasting yellow laces keep your foot in place and adds a nice pop of color against that black. We’re also loving the mismatched removable embroidered patch you can attach on the tongue, featuring a red heart with the yellow three stripes logo, and another one showing off the Aral Cru logo.
Where to buy the adidas x Aral Cru basketball shoes
A pair retails at P7,300 and is available on the adidas website and select adidas stores nationwide.
