EDMONTON — One down, three to go.
Last night the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Los Angeles Kings by a commanding 7-4 final score. Leading the way was Zach Hyman with a hat trick and Connor McDavid casually potting five assists.
The Oilers played with determination and pace from the opening puck drop. The entire top line played with that urgency – including the third member of that line, Adam Henrique.
“Rico” as he is affectionately referred to – scored his first goal in an Oilers uniform. It was off of an incredible shot that he sniped like a 50 goal scorer.
Not only was that his first goal as an Oiler in the playoffs – it was his first goal in the playoffs in quite a while. In fact, by scoring he set an NHL record for most time in-between playoff goals.
Henrique hadn’t scored a playoff goal since Game Six of the 2012 Stanley Cup Final – 4333 days earlier.
Since joining the Oilers he has done everything asked of him – second unit power play, playing as a winger, center and penalty kill. He’s been a good soldier, who was rewarded tonight for his willingness to help the team.

He finished the game with the goal and one assist in 13:52 of ice time. He played a great game, was physical and has clearly solidified his place in the Oilers top six forward group.
