While curd is great to incorporate into our daily diet for a number of health benefits, it is also a great choice of treatment to be apply directly onto our scalp to improve our hair and follicle health. Curd is full of probiotics that is naturally anti-bacterial to help maintain a healthy flora on our scalp. A healthy scalp can contribute to stronger hair follicles thereby reducing hair loss. Curd is also a rich source of protein, which is the essential component to keeping our hair moist, healthy and smooth. Protein is also effective for minimizing dandruff and itchiness of our scalp.

The benefits of applying curd to the hair and scalp have not been proven in clinical research. However, anecdotal evidence and cultural traditions support its use in nourishing the scalp and hair. It is believed that lactic acid, vitamins, and minerals in curd can help control dandruff, promote hair growth and hair softening.
