MANILA, Philippines: ABS-CBN’s longest-running program “TV Patrol” and other all-time favorite dramas will return to its former channel as Advanced Media Broadcasting System (AMBS) and ABS-CBN Corporation officially ink their partnership.
(From left) ABS-CBN’s Group CFO Rick Tan, chief operating officer Cory Vidanes and CEO Carlo Katigbak ink content agreement with AMBS’ president Maribeth Tolentino and CFO Cecille Bernardo on April 23.
Content agreements were executed during the contract signing ceremonies at the Brittany Hotel Villar City this Tuesday.
“I know there are some who feel some pain over our return to our former channel, a home that was once ours. But in all humility, let’s try and put all of the past behind us and embrace, instead, our mission to serve the Filipino wherever they may be,” ABS-CBN CEO Carlo Katigbak said.
Beginning May 13, ALLTV (channel 2) viewers can catch selected all-time favorite Kapamilya teleseryes from Jeepney TV in different parts of the day, including primetime, and get the latest important news from TV Patrol.
“There’s been a persistent clamor for [TV] Patrol’s credible news and information to reach the audience it once had. I hope that by working together with AllTV, we are once again able to deliver this service to all our kababayans (countrymen),” Katigbak added.
Also present at the contract signing were (from left) Katigbak, Vista Land and Lifescapes Inc. president and CEO Paolo Villar, ABS-CBN Chairman Mark Lopez, Villar Group Chairman Manny Villar, All Value Holdings Corp. president and CEO Camille Villar and Senator Mark Villar.
Present at the contract signing were Chairman of Villar Group and former Senate president Manny Villar, Sen. Mark Villar, Vista Land and Lifescapes Inc. president and CEO Paolo Villar, All Value Holdings Corp. president and CEO Camille Villar. Representing AMBS were its president Maribeth Tolentino and its CFO Cecille Bernardo.
Joining Katigbak in representing ABS-CBN were chairman Mark Lopez, chief operating officer Cory Vidanes, Group CFO Rick Tan, and chief partnership officer Bobby Barreiro.
Katigbak also took the opportunity to thank their new partners “for believing in us even if it took a while to get where we are now.”
“[Former] Senator Manny [Villar], when we met a few months ago, I was very touched by what you told me. You said that the magic of ABS-CBN storytelling lies in our character and our soul as an organization. I think it’s this insight that made us believe you truly saw us as a valued partner in growing this business and your very sharp understanding of ABS-CBN gave us the confidence that this is going to be a very successful partnership,” Katigbak shared.
Representing AMBS, Camille Villar also said in a speech, “We are very proud to be celebrating today of what we hope is going to be a long, fruitful and good partnership between AMBS, ALLTV as well as ABS-CBN… There’s not much to say except that we are very very happy that we’re finally here.”
ALLTV Channel 2 was formally launched on September 22, 2022, taking over ABS-CBN’s former frequency. Meanwhile, since its shutdown in May 2020, ABS-CBN has partnered with digital platforms and TV channels — including GMA and TV5 — to provide content.
