Abhishek Bachchan joins Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh in ‘Housefull 5’

Actor Abhishek Bachchan has joined Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh in the fifth chapter of the hit comedy franchise ‘Housefull’. Film producer Sajid Nadiadwala will produce it under his production banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The shoot for ‘Housefull 5’ will begin in August in London.

Excited to return to the comedy franchise after being a part of its third instalment in 2016, Bachchan said in a statement, “It feels like returning home. It’s always been a great pleasure to work with Sajid Nadiadwala. I am looking forward to having mad fun on the sets with my fellow actors, Akshay, and Riteish.”

‘Housefull 5’ will be directed by Tarun Mansukhani, who also helmed Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham starrer ‘Dostana’. Bachchan is excited to be working with Mansukhani again. “This is going to be a lot of fun,” the actor added.

Sajid Nadiadwala is also “thrilled” to bring back Bachchan to the ‘Housefull’ franchise. He said, “His dedication, comic timing, and sincerity will only elevate our film.”

Akshay Kumar announced ‘Housefull 5’ in June 2023. Sharing a poster of the film, he wrote on X, “Get ready for FIVE times the madness! Bringing to y’all #SajidNadiadwala’s #Housefull5 Directed by @tarun_mansukhani See you in cinemas on Diwali 2024! (sic)”

However, the film’s release got postponed, and now it will hit theatres on June 6, 2025. With the film, the makers plan to “raise the bar with its trademark hilarity and camaraderie between the stars.”

Abhishek Bachchan was last seen in the 2023 sports drama, ‘Ghoomer’. The film also starred Shabana Azmi, Saiyami Kher, and Angad Bedi in pivotal roles.
