A young red-headed woman has been left feeling disgusted and disturbed after learning of Australia’s famous school tradition – the ‘Ranga Roundup’.

Phoebe – who posts under the TikTok name ‘Phoebe is ginger’ and describes herself as the founder of the Ginger Defence League – was sickened by the idea of a ’round up’.

The tradition calls for every student with red or ginger hair to be ’rounded up’ and cornered in the school’s soccer nets before being force fed ‘dog faeces’, an enraged Phoebe explained.

The glamorous ginger-haired woman, who is from the UK, said the disgusting high school tradition is proof the people with red hair need more love.

It is the most disgusting thing I have ever hear on the planet of existence,’ she snarled.

‘It is crazy, it is an abomination actually. Criminal, almost,’ she cried.

The video got thousands of views with people all to happy to point out a glaring error – the tradition ‘doesn’t exist’.

‘I think someone might be winding you up. Aissie here and never ever heard of a Ranga Roundup. I’ve been around too,’ one man who went to school in three states said.

‘Australian, known about ranga but never heard of ‘ranga roundup’. there were a few ranga’s when I was at school. my kids never heard of it either,’ another man said.

‘No way. You can’t just leave class, kidnap the gingers and throw caca in their mouths. It would be illegal and teachers would have to be blind and deaf for it to happen,’ said another.

‘As an Australian ginger, I have never heard of this. Sounds made up. Also we don’t have football nets like that in many places,’ added a third.

Others went on to explain it is simply part of a joke by Chris Lilley in his mini series ‘Jonah from Tonga’.

”Ranga Roundup’ was popularised by a mockumentary about a high school bully. I doubt it ever truly happened to someone,’ another man said.

But some claimed since the television show came out some schools have adopted the ‘tradition’ but to a lesser extent.

‘The dog poo part is fake but they did round up rangas at my school,’ one woman said.

‘They round them up all the time at my kid’s primary school,’ said another.

‘It definitely happened at my school. I was a victim,’ said a third.
