We’ll expect tricky travel conditions to target you in Newfoundland as we see rain changing to snow. A wintry blast is upon us and it’s courtesy of this Rex block. It’s a stagnant weather pattern. We’ve got the strong high pressure that’s blocking that through, that’s trying to move out of the area, but instead it is pumping in the moisture. We’ve seen rain already through this week that will continue at times through Thursday, but as cold air comes in Thursday early morning, that’s going to be snow for gander for the evening Commute gets down into St. John’s and through the Avalon. Snowfall rates picking up, the winds picking up, creating some tricky travel. And through Friday morning, typical spring, we see the swing to some warmer temperatures and that’s going to bring in the rain, wash away some of that snow. But it’s still going to be kind of slushy and sloppy out there. But snow will fall and the heaviest amounts are going to be around Gander and Bonavista as well. Gander possibly seeing 15 centimeters or more. Will that be an epic event? We’ll know. April’s record one day snow falls range from 51 centimeters to 30.4.
