log bahut disappointed ho gaye hai mere behaviour se! virat kohli on his viral hug with gautam gambhir – watch
Virat Kohli was involved in an ugly verbal fight with former Indian batter Gautam Gambhir and Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq during RCB’s IPL 2023 match against the Lucknow Super Giants on May 1, 2023. That drama at the end of the LSG-RCB match in Lucknow was one of the most talked-about incidents in cricket last year, but this year, nothing of that sort has happened so far, and instead, almost a year after that ugly fight, Gambhir and Kohli were seen sharing a smile and hugging each other in the IPL this year.
The incident took place during RCB’s third league match of IPL 2024 in Bengaluru on March 29, when, during the strategic time out, Gambhir and Kohli shared a heartwarming moment. While the moment between the two was such a pleasant thing to see on the screen, it broke a lot of hearts too because fans were expecting another episode of the rivalry between the two Delhi boys, who played a big role in India’s win in the final of the 2011 ODI World Cup and many other matches as well.
The golden moment between Kohli and Gambhir in IPL 2024 is one of the highlights of IPL this year, and during a recent event, Kohli talked about that moment and poked fun at the fans by saying that they are very disappointed by his changed behaviour.
In a video that is going viral on the internet, Kohli can be heard saying, “Ye naa log bahut disappointed ho gaye hai mere behaviour se. Naveen (Ul Haq) ke saath maine jhappi daal di, uss din Gauti (Gautam Gambhir) bhai ne aake mere ko jhappi daal di, toh matlab tumhara masala khatam ho gaya toh ab. Abey bacche thodi naa hai yaar.”
Kohli sorted his fight with Naveen-ul-Haq first during the India-Afghanistan ICC ODI World Cup 2023 match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on October 11, 2023. During India’s batting, he hugged the young pacer and had a brief chat with him, after which everything was sorted.
Kohli’s performance in IPL 2024
Kohli, who missed the Test series against England due to the birth of his second child, has been on fire with the bat in IPL 2024 and has scored 316 runs in five matches played so far. He is the leading run scorer in the IPL this year, and after scoring 113 runs in the last match against the Rajasthan Royals on April 6, he will be in action on Thursday (April 11) against the Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium.
