chelsea transfer news: outcast malang sarr feels 'humiliated' as he nears two years without a blues game

Chelsea outcast Malang Sarr has been left feeling ‘humiliated and embarrassed’ by his current situation.

The French defender, once seemingly on the verge of breaking into the national team, ruined a decent chunk of his career by joining

Chelsea

in 2020. Still stuck at Stamford Bridge, Sarr will finish the current season not having played a game for the Blues’ first team in two years, his last outing coming in May 2022.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Monaco but failed to impress. He was not registered for Chelsea’s team in the summer and Mauricio Pochettino, when asked about his future, appeared not to know who he was. In January, he had the chance to temporarily end his nightmare as he was already in France for a medical with Ligue 1 side Le Havre.

However, Chelsea failed to submit the necessary documents on time on Deadline Day and the loan move fell through, prompting Le Havre sporting director Mathieu Bodmer to

slam the Blues’ behaviour as ‘shameful.’

Sarr humiliated

Sarr is reportedly training with Chelsea’s U21s but is alleged to have initially refused to feature for the youth side. It has been claimed that he has since changed his mind, but according to journalist Dean Jones, the defender’s situation has left him feeling ‘humiliated and embarrassed.’

“It’s a disappointing story. However, I think there are two sides to this, and I would be curious to hear the whole story from both angles. I find it very hard to believe that a player in his position would refuse to play because it wouldn’t benefit him long-term to be entirely out of the shop window,” Jones told

GIVEMESPORT

.

“He’s frustrated about how his Chelsea career has panned out and that potential transfers haven’t worked out. He’s now stuck, which has probably left him slightly humiliated and embarrassed. So, from that sense, I can understand his frustrations.”

“But I’d be astonished if that’s extended to him refusing to play for Chelsea. There’ll be more news to come on this. I don’t believe we can let his story continue without hearing more about the other side of it.”
