Vikings set to make 9 picks in NFL Draft

Going into the third draft for general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, the Minnesota Vikings are at a major crossroads. They let Kirk Cousins go to the Atlanta Falcons in free agency and brought in Sam Darnold from the San Francisco 49ers to be the bridge quarterback. They also have wide receiver Justin Jefferson on the final year of his contract and Christian Darrisaw primed for an extension.

As the Vikings look forward, there are a lot of questions. Who will be the quarterback of the future? Can they do enough on the defensive line to make it a quality unit going into 2024? The NFL draft on April 25-27 will answer a lot of questions on those topics.

Vikings have second most NFL draft picks in the Adofo-Mensah era

Going into the 2024 NFL draft, the Vikings are set to have nine draft picks. While they have two first round picks, the Vikings aren’t set to pick on day two. They traded 42nd overall to the Houston Texans to acquire 23rd overall and sent 73rd overall to get T.J. Hockenson. They did get pick 129 back in that trade but not picking on day two in this draft class is disappointing.

The Vikings do have nine draft picks in the 2024 NFL draft with seven of them on day three. Here is where the Vikings are set to pick.
