So that’s the Blink doorbell that we recently installed. OK, after the vandalism that that occurred, Anamika Deb has a video doorbell at a front door for safety. Her family got it because the house was vandalized last month. I think it’s a way for anyone that would try to cross that boundary to. It’s a way for them not to. They’ll see that you have a system in place and that will deter crime. So I think it would, I would say it would be very helpful. The cost will not be covered by the government through the new security rebate program at a front yard. Justice Minister Matt Weib announced a $300.00 rebate for home and business security equipment. They will apply. I feel like it would really help, especially in this economy. Help homeowners, regular Manitobans to feel more secure in their communities. Rape says the rebate will be retroactive to September 1st. They will be reviewed on a first come first served basis. Manitobans with multiple homes or multiple business locations can only apply for one location. However, the rebate can apply for multiple purchases for a single property or a business under the $300.00 threshold. Ravi Rambun, owner of Four Crowns Bar and Grill on Mcphillips has had multiple break insurance at his property. He thinks the rebate is a step in the right direction. Might not be a bit much right now, but I think it’s a step there and I guess the discussion going for sure, I think it also shows support for, for, you know, the more people that have cameras, the more likely that cameras are going to get caught and that’s that’s what the key is. The Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses says the money isn’t enough. Is the policy analyst, while we appreciate the rebate coming out, we definitely want to advocate for an expansion in the rebate program so that it includes. Reparative as well as proactive measures and to up the rebate amount, WEEP says the government has budgeted half $1,000,000 for the program. It can be used for cameras, alarms, motion detectors or anti graffiti film. Security subscriptions and monthly fees for alarm systems aren’t eligible. Manitobans can apply in June.
