2024 Mercedes-AMG C63 Is a 671-HP PHEV Sedan That Starts at $85,050

  • The 2024 Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance will have an $85,050 starting price when it reaches U.S. dealerships this spring.
  • The high-performance sedan is a plug-in hybrid, with its Formula 1-inspired four-cylinder powertrain producing a combined 671 horsepower.
  • The C63 we tested in the South of France posted impressive numbers, hitting 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and clearing the quarter-mile in 11.2 ticks at 121 mph.

The 2024 Mercedes-AMG C63 looks like a sportier version of Mercedes’s venerable C-class sedan, which comes with a perfectly pedestrian 255-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a $48K base price. However, under the AMG’s similar sheetmetal is a Formula 1-inspired plug-in-hybrid powertrain that pairs a hand-built 2.0-liter turbo four with an electric motor and supercharger. That combination provides 671 horsepower and 752 pound-feet of torque. It also pumps up the C’s price tag, with the new C63 S E Performance starting at $85,050.

The standard model comes with the aforementioned PHEV setup as well as a 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system with a drift mode, an AMG-specific suspension with adaptive dampers, an upgraded braking system, and rear-axle steering that can turn about 3 degrees. Of course, it’s still a luxury sedan, so it’s available with a various nappa leather upholstery, highly customizable ambient interior lighting, and a Burmester sound system.

For an extra $2050 ($87,00 total), you can upgrade to the Pinnacle trim level.
