Teenager dies after being stabbed with barbecue stick, bread knife in QC
A 17-year old died boy after getting stabbed with a barbecue stick and a bread knife amid a brawl in Quezon City.
In Raffy Tima’s “24 Oras” report, the stick that hit the victim’s heart snapped and remained inside his body.
According to the victim’s friend “BG”, they were hanging out outside a billiard room in Barangay Quirino 3A when they were suddenly surrounded by a group of boys, mostly minors.
“Tinanong po kami kung taga saan kami, nang di ko po nasagot, may bigla pong sumapak po sa akin, at dun na po nagkahabulan,” he said.
(We were asked where we were from, when I was not able to answer, someone suddenly hit me, and we started chasing each other.)
BG was able to escape but the victim was mobbed along Anonas in Quezon City.
In a CCTV footage that is circulated online, the victim was seen getting mobbed, punched and stabbed.
The barangay officials returned to the establishment earlier to get another angle of the CCTV to determine who stabbed the victim.
For now, three 18-year-olds were arrested and eight minors are in the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), GMA Integrated News have sought for a statement.
Meanwhile, the management of the establishment declined from giving a statement because they said they had nothing to do with the incident. However, they are cooperating with the investigation by providing CCTV footage to the police.
The Quezon City Police District declined to comment because the case is still under investigation.
The victim is the eldest of five siblings, and his parents do not have a stable job.
His parents could not accept his sudden death due to a street fight.
“Ang sakit sakit po. Sana po bigyan ng hustisya yung pagkamatay ng anak ko kasi ang saklap po talaga ng nangyari sa kaiya, brutal yung ginawa sa kaniya kasi sinaksak siya ng stick ng barbecue tapos sinaksak pa ng knife bread,” said his mother, “Fely.”
(This is so painful. I hope that justice will be given to my son’s death because what happened to him was really horrible, what was done to him was brutal because he was stabbed with a barbecue stick and then stabbed with a bread knife.)
“Nag-iisang anak ko na lalaki yan e, matanda na ako. Siya lang ang inaasahan namin,” said the victim’s father.
