MANILA, Philippines: The easterlies – winds coming from the east, passing through the Pacific Ocean and carrying warm and humid weather – are affecting the entire archipelago, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Thursday.
Easterlies with isolated rain affecting most of PH – Pagasa
Meanwhile, cloud formations were spotted outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) but are unlikely to develop into a low pressure area (LPA), weather specialist Benison Estareja said.
The country would still be storm-free in the coming days, he said citing Pagasa’s data and analysis.
In particular, the easterlies are bringing overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Caraga and Davao Region, the state-run weather agency said in its 5 a.m. advisory.
The same weather system, along with the localized thunderstorms, is affecting Metro Manila and the rest of the country where partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated downpours or thunderstorms may prevail, Pagasa said.
