10-Year-Old Boy Among 6 Dead After Tennessee Tornadoes: 'Absolutely Devastated,' Says Mom

A 10-year-old boy has been identified as one of the six victims who died after powerful tornadoes tore through Tennessee on Saturday.
Arlan Burnham died after his two-story home in Clarksville collapsed, Clarksville Now and ABC affiliate WKRN-TV reported. Neighbor Billy Urban was able to pull out Arlan and his sister Ella from the rubble, according to Clarksville Now. Sadly, only Ella survived.
“My beautiful baby boy, Arlan, did not make it out of the house,” Arlan’s mom wrote in an emotional message on Facebook.
“Kyle and I are not okay. We don’t know how to navigate through this,” Katherine Burnham added. “We have no idea what is next. Anyone who knows me at all knows how much I love and adore my kids, all kids really. I can not put into words how absolutely devastated I am.”
The boy’s dad said on Facebook that the family is grateful for all of the support they’ve received so far.
“We truly love everyone that has helped,” Kyle wrote. “Our entire family was turned upside down.”

Kyle’s coworker, Brian Burkeen, created a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses as well as rebuilding the family’s home.
“The road to recovery will be long and arduous, both emotionally and financially,” read a message on the fundraiser, which has raised over $129,000 as of Monday morning.
“As they navigate through the grief of losing a cherished family member, they also must contend with the daunting challenge of reconstructing their home and replacing the essentials that were lost in the tornado,” Burkeen wrote in the fundraiser’s description.
Meanwhile, in Clarksville, two other adults have died, per The Tennessean and the New York Post.
Floridana Gabriel Perez, 31, her 2-year-old son Anthony Elmer Mendez, and Joseph Dalton, 37, were killed in Madison after Dalton’s mobile home rolled on top of Perez’s during the storm, per the outlets.
More than 18,000 homes and businesses remain without power in Tennessee as of Monday morning, as temperatures are expected to stay below 50 degrees throughout the day, according to CNN.
“We have a lot of families who are suffering and our hearts are especially heavy with those that have lost some and certainly with those that have lost [it] all,” said Director of Montgomery County Emergency Services Jimmie Edwards, per CNN.
