A fire killed a 60-year-old woman in Barangay Niog 1, Bacoor, Cavite, and destroyed at least 30 houses, leaving almost 90 families displaced.
According to Darlene Cay’s Sunday dzBB report, the displaced families were staying at a vacant lot as there were still evacuees from a previous fire who were staying at the Niog Elementary School.
Meanwhile, Niog 1 Barangay Chairman Alma Camarce said the barangay hall could only accommodate 20 families.
GMA Integrated News had sought Mayor Revilla’s comment on the barangay’s appeal, but he had yet to respond as of posting time.
The victims were being provided food packs and clothes as the Bacoor City government processed their information for financial assistance.
