The Federal government has announced it is investing hundreds of millions of dollars to create 3,000 jobs in remote Australia.
Assistant Minister for Indigenous Australians Malarndirri McCarthy said the 3,00 jobs going into the future is “incredibly significant”.
“The announcement that the Prime Minister is going to make today, to work with organisations but also local government,” Ms McCarthy told Sky News Australia.
“Local government plays a strong role in this.
“When I was local government minister over in the Northern Territory I worked very closely with this sector because their employment area was just as critical in our regional and remote areas and this will be important to them as well.”
