Lockyer on Reece Walsh's return and his famous helicopter ride

He’s back on the field now this week, Lockie 2 weeks earlier than expected with that facial fracture. How tricky can they be to manage? Because you it’s kind of going into the unknown. I think Molly Meldrum took his. Yeah, maybe. I was a question again. Yeah, the facial fractures, because you had one in your career. Well, look, I I think the fact he didn’t need to get operated on meant that it was, you know, it was a minor fracture. And in today’s game, obviously the head is well protected even though there is head contact with the head as we’ve seen a bit of late, but. He’s gonna wear the headgear. You just gotta get through the first couple of tackles and away you go. Look I don’t I don’t the the doctors wouldn’t let him go out there if he if he wasn’t capable. Yeah I couldn’t agree more Lucky the the doctors are in charge of that decision making process and while it might be the coach and the player that remind the doc that they’d like to be playing in this one if there’s any suggestion of of long term damage I don’t think they’d they’d make the decision to to gamble. So I think that he must feel OK and. Pretty much, you know. I suggest that after he takes the first couple of tackles up and has contact on him, he’ll start to feel pretty comfortable.
