We’re inching closer to winter, so the frontal systems are starting to be able to make it through once again. So the southeast has one coming in bit warmer today ahead of much cooler change tomorrow as this moves through overnight, bringing a quick burst of wet weather with it. For most of us though, this Ridge of high pressure from high in the southwest or high in the southeast, we’ll keep things pretty settled other than onshore winds carrying some shower activity into the East Coast. Now we do have some gusty weather on in parts of the South and that’s helping to ramp up the fire danger to high for many. In terms of rainfall, don’t expect a heck of a lot this front, even though it’s coming in tonight, it’ll only deliver a few millimetres probably at best, some better falls potentially for the cassowary coast in Queensland and up top a bit of tropical action as well. Through the outlook, it’s more of the same. This front whips through fairly quickly, licks up the East Coast and then things all largely settled down until the next front comes in. Again, drawing warmth down into the southeast, not bringing much rain. It’s not really going to be able to bust through that Ridge particularly well. So we don’t have much rainfall through the outlook. Western Tassie doesn’t get protected by that Ridge, so you’ll probably see some of the best of the falls. The northeast tropical coast of Queensland as well and parts of the tropics could see some relatively good falls, but we’re not talking triple digits in the gauges for anyone in the week ahead tomorrow. In fact, it’s drying up in Brisbane, still getting to 26 though. Otherwise it’s looking much the same for many. 27 in Sydney, 21 for Canberra, but then in the southeast corner you’ll feel that chill with a shower or two from Melbourne getting to 1615 in Hobart. Bit of wet weather for you as well. Then we’re back to well. Grey skies in Adelaide but a dry day. 18 there. Perth’s cooler again, 24 will be your maximum and up top there is just a possible shower around for Darwin. You’re getting to 33.
