‘First of Their Kind’ Alienware QD-OLED Gaming Monitors Redefine What You See and Feel

CES 2024 has been brimming with bizarre and innovative tech releases, and Alienware has joined the fray with two new groundbreaking QD-OLED gaming monitors: the Alienware 32-inch 4K QD-OLED (AW3225QF) and Alienware 27-inch 360Hz QD-OLED (AW2725DF). The manufacturer calls both models “the first of their kind,” with the 4K AW3225QF being the world’s first 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor with Dolby Vision HDR while the Alienware 27 360Hz QD-OLED (AW2725DF) is the world’s first 360Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor. Both come with new pretty amazing specs, solidifying Alienware’s presence in the cutting-edge PC market.

The new 32-inch 4K QD-OLED monitor “marries beauty and performance for the ultimate visual experience.” Its specially designed curved QD-OLED panel minimizes reflections and expand your “peripheral vision” with stunning picture quality, featuring infinite contrasts, true blacks, and a peak brightness of up to 1000 nits.

As you would expect from a top-tier gaming monitor, the AW3225QF has an incredibly fast 240Hz native refresh rate, an impressive 0.03ms grey-to-grey response time, Dolby Vision HDR, and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400. The monitor also features NVIDIA G-SYNC and VESA AdaptiveSync for a smooth, tear-free gameplay experience. Additionally, its high-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 FRL unlocks 120Hz performance from next-gen consoles at 4K resolution, complete with VRR support and auto-low latency.

On the other hand, the smaller 27-inch AW2725DF “combines competition-ready speed with astounding colour performance in QHD resolution.” The monitor supports up to 360Hz native refresh rate and has a 0.03ms grey-to-grey response time; this “allows for clear motion and near-instantaneous pixel response, reducing blur and ghosting.” Furthermore, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 promises to deliver stunningly rich color and clarity, while AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and VESA AdaptiveSync technology eliminate laggy gameplay.

Both the new Alienware monitors take advantage of the company’s 3-layer Quantum Dot structure, with blue self-emitting pixels and a layer of QD nanoparticles on top to create the other primary colours you see on the screen. As per the company, “The AW3225QF and AW2725DF possess infinite contrast ratio for incredible colour detail and judder-free video playback, covering 99% and 99.3% of DCI-P3 gamut respectively and Delta E < 2 colour accuracy delivering an astonishing performance.”

The two monitors also get a 3-year limited OLED burn-in hardware warranty, thanks to Alienware’s commitment to going above and beyond. As of writing, the company hasn’t revealed the pricing or release dates for either the 27-inch or 32-inch monitors; however, it’s expected that both the AW3225QF and AW2725DF will be released sometime in 2024.
