Επεισόδια μεταξύ διαδηλωτών και αστυνομίας στη Τουρκία

Σοβαρά επεισόδια και συγκρούσεις σώμα με σώμα σημειώθηκαν στην Κωνσταντινούπολη σήμερα, μεταξύ διαδηλωτών και αστυνομίας, με αφορμή τις εκδηλώσεις για την Πρωτομαγιά.

Οι αστυνομικοί διακρίνονταν να σημαδεύουν με τα όπλα τους, ρίχνοντας λαστιχένιες σφαίρες κατά των διαδηλωτών που προσπαθούσαν να φτάσουν στην κεντρική πλατεία Ταξίμ της Κωνσταντινούπολης.

Την Τρίτη, ο Ρετζέπ Ταγίπ Ερντογάν είχε δώσει εντολή να αποκλειστεί η πλατεία Ταξίμ, τονίζοντας ότι δεν θα επιτραπούν οι εκδηλώσεις για την Πρωτομαγιά στο συγκεκριμένο σημείο, αλλά η αντιπολίτευση, με πρώτο τον ηγέτη του Ρεπουμπλικανικού Λαϊκού Κόμματος (CHP), Οζγκούρ Οζέλ, κάλεσε τον κόσμο να πάει στην Ταξίμ κατά της απαγόρευσης.

Αποτέλεσμα ήταν να ακολουθήσουν σφοδρές συγκρούσεις με την αστυνομία, η οποία προχώρησε σε δεκάδες συλλήψεις.
