Harry Kane says children 'fine' after 'luckily' avoiding serious injury in three-car crash in Germany

Harry Kane has said his children are “fine” after being involved in a three-car crash in Germany.

The crash happened on Monday at 5.50pm BST near Munich, where the England captain plays for Bayern Munich, the night before the club’s Champions League showdown with Arsenal in North London.

The three children, Louis, Vivienne, and Ivy were taken by an ambulance to a nearby hospital for a check-up and suffered only minor injuries.

“They are fine and only went to hospital for a routine check-up,” a spokesperson for Kane said.

A local volunteer fire chief told the BBC everyone involved in the crash was “very lucky” no one was seriously injured.

According to Bavarian Police, the triple collision occurred when a Renault with four people inside collided with a Mercedes carrying Kane’s children as well as a Land Rover being driven by a woman.

The crash caused the Renault to skid and hit a Land Rover being driven by a 62-year-old woman.

All of those involved suffered minor injuries, including a woman who was taken to hospital by helicopter.

Speaking to BBC News, Hohenschäftlarn Volunteer Fire Department chief Daniel Buck said: “The cars had a lot of damage – all of the cars. The first thing that we were seeing was a lot of injured people from all the cars.

“The good news was nobody had really strong injuries, more minor injuries, like they have pain in the neck from the head up, normally typical for a car accident.

“Thank God nobody was really injured. It was really lucky for all the people.”

Police are investigating the crash.

The striker, who left Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 for a four-year deal with Bayern Munich, has four children with his wife Kate.

His youngest child, Henry, and his wife were not involved in the crash.
