Jared Bahay acknowledges the crowd after leading SHS-Ateneo de Cebu to a gold medal finish at the 2023 Palarong Pambansa in Marikina City.
Jared Bahay is staying with Ateneo, after all.
From Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu in high school, Bahay will remain with the Blue Eagles’ nest as he will play college ball for Ateneo de Manila University.
Bahay’s move was widely reported on Thursday, January 5.
In March of last year, the 5-foot-8 point guard committed to play for the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons. He even reaffirmed his decision to play for State U after leading Ateneo to the Palarong Pambansa championship last August.
In his final high school playing year, Bahay also steered Ateneo de Cebu to its second straight CESAFI championship while also winning the Most Valuable Player award last December.
Bahay, however, had a change of heart as he announced that he will not be joining the Fighting Maroons, ultimately staying with Ateneo.
