Toronto premiere of I Am: Celine Dion sees Canadian artists celebrate star's impact

I'm working hard every day, but I have to admit it's been a struggle. I miss it so much to people. I miss them. If I can't roam, I'll walk. If I can't walk, I'll walk. I won't stop some of the trailer for the documentary I Am Céline Dion. The premiere of that is less than a week away. It's set for release on Amazon Prime on June the 25th. But the documentary had its Canadian premiere last night with stars and fans in attendance. And Taken Bodette was on the red carpet for us. Céline Dion is ready to share her story. We're on the red carpet for her new documentary, I Am Céline Dion. She's been out of the public eye for a few years after struggling with some health issues, and now she's inviting the public in to what those last few years have been like. It was a who's who of Canadian musicians and artists. We're here celebrating Céline Dion and her impact on Canadian culture. Take a listen. I'm a Celine Stan from way back. I think I presented Celine with one of her first Junos, if not her first Juno, and you know, marvelled at her amazingness and her incredible career for many, many decades. Celine calls, you show up, and show up they did. One of the young musicians that I talked to tonight was Omega Mighty. She says that Céline Dion has had a massive influence on young Canadian artists, particularly young women. You grew up singing Celine Dion's song. I grew up on all of her music. My heart will go on my favorite song ever. And I remember, like, being in music school and that like, there was an era like a year that like, everybody used that song for their competition. And she's such a talent. She's put on so much for like, women in music, Canadian women in music. And that's everything that I am. So I have to be here to support the girl. Julie Black, Canada's Queen of R&B, hosted the screening and said audiences can expect a vulnerable. A different look at Céline Dion from the documentary. Well, you're going to definitely see courage. You're going to see vulnerability. You're going to see a light togetherness, just bravery and that I, I say, I say resistance more than resilience because it takes resistance to build muscles to see that change. And that's what I'm seeing. That's what I saw in our ceiling. Audiences will be able to see the documentary on June 25th on Prime Video taking Bodett, CBC News Toronto.
