2025 Cadillac V-Series Blackwing Special Editions Announced at Le Mans

• Cadillac announced a new pair of special-edition V-series Blackwings at last weekend's running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
• The CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre Edition honors the 1950 race car of the same name, while the CT4-V Blackwing Petit Pataud Edition honors Cadillac's second 1950 entrant.
• Production will be limited for both models, with Cadillac planning to build 101 Le Monstre cars and a mere 50 Petit Pataud models.

What better place to announce your new pairing of Le Mans-inspired sports sedans than at the legendary race itself? Nowhere. That's why Cadillac used the 101st running of Le Mans to introduce the world to its newest Cadillac V-series Blackwing Collector Series models on Friday, June 14. There's a special CT5-V Blackwing based on the iconic Le Monstre racer from 1950 and a limited-run CT4-V Blackwing based on its sister car the Petit Pataud.

Meet the Le Monstre and Petit Pataud

Both Blackwings earn the same visual alterations, with exteriors finished in Magnus Metal Frost matte paint and accented by Stormhawk Blue Carbon Fiber and Royal Blue brake calipers. The blue-hued theme doesn't stop there, with a new interior headlined by Phantom Blue leather with Santorini accents and the choice of either Sky Cool Gray or Jet Black inserts. Special heritage-inspired sill plates finished in blue round out the color theme, while these newest Caddys join the rest of the Collectors Series by adding bespoke 3-D-printed shifter medallions and a serialized B-pillar plaque.

There are no performance modifications to speak of, though you can trust that neither model is lacking on that front. The CT4-V Blackwing touts a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V-6 that produces 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque, which it sends to the rear wheels. Steering and chassis dynamics are class-leading, and we urged a manual-equipped test model to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds. The CT5-V Blackwing is even more stout and jams a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 under its hood. In addition to sounding great, the supercharged V-8 produces 668 horsepower and launches the big sedan to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds.

Both special edition Cadillacs pay homage to the brand's lineup in the 1950 running of Le Mans. When Cadillac's designers read that Le Mans rules allowed entrants to rebody standard cars, they had a field day with the design of their first entrant, which came to be named "Le Monstre" by local fans. The sister car (also named by local fans) came to be known as "Petit Patoud" and featured a more classic coupe shape. We don't expect these modern examples to become quite as famous as their namesakes, but we do love how they look.

2024 Cadillac Collector Series

Cadillac hasn't divulged pricing or ordering information for either model, but we expect they'll sell like hot cakes—if they haven't already. Production of the CT5-V Le Monstre will be limited to 101 units as a reference to every year the famed race has run. The CT4-V Petit Pataud will be even more rare, with Cadillac planning to build just 50 examples—as a nod to the brand's first entry to Le Mans in 1950.
