Jeremy Clarkson issues worrying update on future of Clarkson's Farm ahead of season four
Jeremy Clarkson has issued a worrying update on the future of Clarkson’s Farm.
The Amazon Prime series – which is one of the platform’s most watched shows ever – follows the 64-year-old former Top Gear presenter and his sidekick Kaleb Cooper as he attempts to run Diddly Squat Farm in posh Chipping Norton in the Cotswolds.
But Clarkson and his team, who have previously navigated anger from the council and locals after fans descended on the area to visit his farm shop and the death of his beloved pigs, have been dealt another blow.
Britons up and down the country are already fuming this summer is turning out to be a washout in what has been dubbed the ‘wettest summer ever’ in the UK – and could be the worst for 100 years. But spare a thought for farmers whose crops may be damaged by the constant downpours.
Clarkson is one of them and took to Instagram to share an aerial photo of Diddly Squat Farm showing how the rain has already ruined some of this year’s plans, meaning the farm is at risk of not producing any profitable crops. He told fans: “It’s going to be a rough year. All that seed sowed, drowned with the constant rain.”

Fans were quick to comment on the photo, with one saying: “Another year of nonprofit farming. This is probably the biggest thing that Diddly Squat has communicated to the public over the seasons – farming doesn’t make money.” Another wrote: “It just seems wrong to ‘like’ this post. My deepest sympathies.”
A third commented: “Unfortunately no one in power will care until we literally run out of food. It’s the same the world over.” A fourth said: “Wishing you warmer days with a dry sunny stretch.” While a fifth added: “Oh no this is awful!! You make me see just how much work goes into farming... take my hat off to all farmers around the world because that is a graft. Gutted for you all with this weather!!”
As well as Clarkson, his partner Lisa and farm manager Kaleb, fan favourite Gerald Cooper – who is Kaleb’s dad – is making a return in the new series, which is due back on TV screens in 2025. The 74-year-old was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and took a break from filming series three to have treatment. Thankfully, by the end of the third season, Clarkson revealed that Gerald had successfully beaten the illness after several radiotherapy sessions.
So what can we expect from season four? Clarkson was forced to close his Diddly Squat restaurant thanks to the council in the previous series, but after getting the green light on plans for the next three years, is it set to open again? It has been reported that Clarkson wants to buy a Cotswolds pub, so that could potentially form another part of the business if it happened. Fans can also expect to see some new animals on the farm soon as Clarkson declared he “wants to do real farming”. But we’ll all have to tune into the new series to see what they are...
